Lake Russell provides a pristine retreat just one hour from Greenville
Spanning the line between Georgia and South Carolina lie 27,000 surface acres of clear, clean blue water, untroubled by heavy wake. Completed in 1984 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Lake Russell’s 550 miles of shoreline are protected by the Army Corps’ shoreline buffer and the lake consistently maintains nearly full pool year round even in periods of extreme drought. One of the South’s only undeveloped lakes, it provides a nature-lovers’ paradise, ideal for a wide array of outdoor activities.
